Veteran's Home Care

Are you or your loved one a veteran? You may qualify for expense reimbursements when receiving non-medical care at home (HOME CARE)...

Two VA non-service connected disability pension benefits were designed to provide a tax-free monthly pension to help cover the cost of long-term care. These benefits are available to veterans or their surviving spouses and may be received outside the VA residential system (such as in your own homes or other residential care homes).

Eligibility for Veteran's Home Care Benefits

The two pension plans are:

  • The VA Aid and Attendance Pension Plan and
  • The Housebound Pension Plan

For a complete list of our Home Care and Supportive services please visit our Home Care Services page.

A veteran cannot receive both the Aid and Attendance Pension Plan and Housebound Pension Plan benefits at the same time. The monthly maximum benefits may change annually. Please contact us for current benefit amount.

Are you or your loved one a veteran and have served in active duty during a period of war? You may qualify to receive reimbursement for expenses incurred in receiving non-medical care at home (home care).

There are several eligibility requirements to qualify for either of these home care benefits that include:

  • The veteran or spouse needing home care must be 65 years or older. If less than 65 years of age you must be disabled and/or be unemployable.
  • The veteran’s discharge should not be a ‘dishonorable’ discharge.
  • The veteran must have served on active Federal duty for at least 90 days, with at least one day during a period of war. (Call us to learn more  about qualifying dates).
  • Must have a medical need for home care
  • Must meet financial need criteria as established by the VA (based on income and countable assets). Our network of financial professionals can assist you in understanding this criteria.

For more details please CONTACT us.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU? These pension benefits allow the veteran or the veteran’s spouse the ability to receive home care that they need and may not be able to otherwise afford. This benefit is tax-free and directly paid to the veteran receiving the care at home.

Our Home Care Advisors are available to help Veterans
